Bladder Cancer

Diagnosis Process

- Pathological examination: Tumor type (superficial or invasive) and grade are determined
Bladder Cancer Types
- Superficial (non-invasive) bladder cancer: Only on the lining of the bladder, usually well is navigable
- Invasive bladder cancer: Has spread to deeper layers of the bladder wall
- Tumor involving the muscle layer: more aggressive course and requires radical treatment
Treatment Methods
TUR-M (Transurethral Resection)
- Used for diagnosis and treatment of superficial tumors
- Endoscopic (closed) tumor removal
- Subsequently, intra-bladder BCG or chemotherapy applications can be performed
Radical Cystectomy
- In tumors that have reached the muscle layer or recurrent tumors, the entire bladder is removed
